The Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 Blu Ray Cover Art And “Crashocaster” Strat

Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 Blu Ray

The artwork for the front and rear covers and the inner panels of this blu ray package were all designed by the famous American graffiti artist Joh Crash Matos. I like the artwork on the Blu-Ray packaging, carried over onto the booklet included with the disks. Everything is artistically laid out and coordinated to make it the best-looking package of the Crossroad co. The paragraphs should consist of the following:

1. Crossroad co.’s new blu ray release features artwork by Joh Crash Matos, known for his distinctive graffiti art style.

2. The packaging is beautiful and well-coordinated, making it one of the best-looking releases from Crossroad co.

3. Crash’s unique style makes for a sophisticated look that fits well with Crossroad co.’s other releases, such as horror movies and documentaries.

Eric Johnson, widely considered one of history’s most influential and celebrated guitarists, has used Crash’s graffiti art on his guitars from previous Crossroads guitar festivals. Once again, on the guitar, he plays during this concert. The crash has been a longtime collaborator with Eric, and he credits him as a significant inspiration for his art. “He’s one of my favorite players, and it’s cool that he returns to Crossroads every year,” said Crash.

The Axe Heaven mini-version of the 2019 Crashocaster was explicitly designed as a promotional gift to V.I.P.s attending the Crossroads Guitar Festival. The guitar came in a guitar case that Eric signed and said, Thanks for your support for the Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019. They were also being sold directly by Axe Heaven for $100.

Songs And Artists

For those unable to make it to Madison Square Garden for Bruce Springsteen’s performance on Monday night, there are plenty of other ways to catch the Boss.

The 2 Blu-ray disks and 2 DVD versions of the show feature 43 songs, including 12 unreleased tracks (6 from the Born in the U.S.A. tour and six from the Darkness on the Edge of Town tour). The 3 CD version features 38 songs.

The introduction was done by Bill Murray, who portrayed a burned-out elderly hippie whose snarky remarks often drew mixed feelings and even boos from the audience. He said this would be his last show before he retires for good, but whether or not that is true remains to be seen.

Musical Performance Highlights

Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 Blu Ray

Solo Acts

Sonny Landreth

The Blu Ray of Sonny’s show at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco was a revelation. The audience file photos of the event show an aging, graying Sonny with long hair and a beard. In person, he is much younger, almost handsome. His slide guitar style is nothing short of amazing! Bill Murray introduced him as The Sultan of the Slide Guitar.

He had what looked like a Seymour Duncan Hot Rales pickup in the bridge position of his guitar. Sonny played songs like “Amazing Grace” and “Walking on Sunshine.” He also did a scorching version of “Help!” by The Beatles.

Gustavo Santaolalla

This fellow played a gorgeous fragment of antique music (Lazos de Ushuaia a La Quiaca) on a vibrant-looking musical instrument. Please go check it out.

Robert Cray

Robert Cray’s new album, I Shiver, features some of his best playings. However, one of the songs, “Too Much Trouble,” doesn’t showcase his soloing ability as much as it could have. The song is a fusion of blues and rock that sounds great with Robert’s twin Matchless Amp setup, but he should have chosen a tune with more solos for fans to enjoy. He also played his Fender Artist Series Robert Cray strat on this album- something that guitar enthusiasts will appreciate.

Marcus King Band

Marcus Lewis is a saxophonist and bandleader who performs with a Telecaster and an Orange Amplifier. He rips it up on stage, and the audience can’t help but groove to his tunes. Marcus has a great horn section accompanying him; his sound is unique. His band is also fantastic – they play excellent music everyone can enjoy. If you’re looking for a saxophonist who will blow your mind with his excellent playing skills, look no further than Marcus Lewis!

Robert Randolph

Robert Randolph, the famed lap steel guitarist, is back with his new album, Cut Em Loose. Like his previous work, Randolph employs tight band performances and distortion on his lap steel guitar to create an exciting blues sound. His blues style is unique and very entertaining.

Randolph’s use of distortion makes it difficult to distinguish between the notes played on the lap steel and his other instruments. This adds a layer of complexity to his music, which I enjoy.

Los Lobos

Los Lobos are known for their trademark style of Mexican-rock music. Mas Y Mas is one of their biggest hits, and the drums and bass guitar sync up perfectly to create a unique vibe.

Tedeschi Trucks Band

The band dedicates this song to the memory of B.B. King, and Derek Trucks does the best imitation of a B.B. solo I’ve ever heard! You’ve got to see and hear this one to believe it. Trucks, who has played alongside King numerous times, nails every note in his signature style easily, making for an incredibly moving performance that will indeed move your heart.

Musical collaborations

Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 Blu Ray

Eric Clapton’s Acoustic Set

On Saturday night, Eric Clapton and Andy Fairweather Low teamed up for an excellent acoustic performance at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in New York. Nathan East also took the stage, playing electric acoustic bass guitar.

The set consisted of some of Clapton’s most popular tunes, including Tonight and Lay Down Sally. East and Fairweather Low sounded great on their instruments, and the set was a nice mix of old and new material. It was a great way to end the festival season.

Bonnie Raitt, Sherly Crow, And Jimmy Vaughn

Bonnie Raitt and Keb Mo are two of the most in-demand blues guitarists, and their collaboration on Million Miles was nothing short of magical. With Bonnie’s soulful vocals and Keb’s smoking hot blues riffs, the tune sounded like a classic song from the past.

Jimmy Vaughn pulls off his trademark staccato licks on Baby Please Come Home while Bonnie plays slide guitar that will knock your socks off. These two masters of the blues will keep your toes tapping all night long!

Citizen Cope And Gary Clark Jr.

Citizen Cope, a critically acclaimed soul singer, and guitarist, teamed up with Gary Clark Jr. for his new single “Son’s Gonna Rise.” The contrast between their two diverse styles made the song pop. Citizen Cope is known for her powerful vocals and blues-based guitar playing, while Gary Clark Jr. is known for his electric blues sound. Their contrasting styles worked perfectly together to make the song sound great.

Doyle Bramhall II And The Tedeschi Trucks Band

Derek Trucks and the Allman Brothers Band revival have been one of the most anticipated projects in recent memory. His slide guitar playing on tracks like “That’s How Strong My Love Is” is unparalleled, and the three-piece brass section sounds excellent!

Buddy Guy And Jonny Lang

Buddy and Jonny did a fantastic rendition of Cognac. It was a shame that Jeff Beck didn’t join them since the original version was done by Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, and Keith Richards! The performance had the energy of three friends who loved performing together.

The crowd loved every minute of it and were on their feet, cheering for the entire duration. It was clear that this trio was having a great time performing, and it showed in their fantastic rendition of Cognac.

Eric Clapton With John Mayer And Doyle Bramhall II

Eric Clapton closed out his final show of a three-night run at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, with a performance of Badge and his classic tune Layla. It was a real treat to hear him do the electric version of Layla since he favors the acoustic rendition these days.

Eric sounded amazing on both song versions and showed his incredible guitar skills. His setlist mainly consisted of older material, but he did throw in two new songs: Crossroads and Tuscaloosa. Overall, it was a fantastic conclusion to an incredible tour that will be remembered for years.

The Encore – Eric Clapton And The All-Star Ensemble

Eric Clapton returns to the stage one last time with as many artists as he can fit on stage to play Purple Rain as a tribute to Prince and his new go-to show-closer, High Time We Went. There are not enough amps on stage for all the guitar players, so watching them unplug and hand off a guitar cable to the next person to play solo is amusing.

Backstage Footage

 Festival 2019 Blu Ray

Prince’s influence on popular music was undeniable, his death leaving a gaping hole in the music world. However, one of his closest proteges is still going strong with a new show closer in High Time We Went.

Eric Clapton and friends gathered on stage to play Purple Rain as a tribute to Prince, with Clapton taking on the role of the lead singer. Unfortunately, there were not enough amps on stage for all the guitar players, so watching them unplug and hand off a guitar cable to the next person to play a solo was amusing.

Special moments like guitar solos are not interrupted to any extent. If you’ve ever seen the Black Sabbath The Last Supper DVD, you know. Guitar solos are often uninterrupted, and the audience seems to love it. Some might argue that these unbridled excitement are interruptions, but they’re not really. These special moments add depth and meaning to the music itself.

Stage Setup And Appearance

The stage at the Grammy Awards had a high-tech backdrop with geometrically arranged rectangular areas that light up and change colors. In the middle was a multi-aspect screen that was used for highlighting particular singers, players taking a solo, and quick shots of the audience. It was smooth, and the crew used it tastefully, so it didn’t detract from what was going on with the music.

Musical Equipment

If you are a gearhead or someone who loves music, you will love picking out all the custom shop guitars and boutique amps. Most of the performances give a glimpse at the multi-effects boards that the guitarists are using, but they are not close enough to pick things out clearly. It is great to see these posts where guitarists take us through their setups in more detail.

Austin Lewis from Motionless In White is one guitarist who has been posting a lot lately. He has taken us through his entire rig in some great posts recently, and we have learned a lot about what effects he uses and how they work together. One of his latest posts shows off his setups for soloing and playing with M.I.M. bandmates Jonathan Donais and Travis Smith.

Audio Specifications And Quality

Gearheads rejoice! If you love custom guitars and boutique amps, you’ll love checking out the performances in this article. Most guitarists use multi-effects boards hidden from view, but we can see what they’re using by looking at their pedalboards.

Some stand-out pedals include an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi, a Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal, and an Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer. These are just a few examples of the many fantastic custom effects these guitarists utilize to give their performances a unique edge. If you’re into gearhead culture, you’ll want to check out this article!

Video Specifications And Quality

The video of the performance is high-definition MPEG-4 AVC. It was pro-shot in widescreen with an aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in a resolution of 1080p. The video looks crisp and clear in almost every scene. Multiple camera angles are frequently used to create a more immersive experience for the viewer.

Sometimes the wrong musician is spotlighted instead of the person taking a solo, but not excessively. Overall, the video pairs well with the audio quality and provides an enjoyable watching experience for anyone interested in classical music.

My Favorite Moments

I have two favorite moments in the show. The first is when Eric Clapton and Peter Frampton performed “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” Seeing them perform it together was such a beautiful and fantastic song. The second moment was the Jeff Beck set. He is such a legend, and it was so awesome to see him play live.

Eric Clapton And Peter Frampton

Eric Clapton and Peter Frampton teamed up to perform the Beatles classic “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” at a charity concert in London on Monday night, and the result was nothing less than phenomenal! The two guitar legends first did the guitar solo on the original recording that George Harrison wrote, which appeared on The Beatle’s 1968 double album, The Beatles.

Frampton started as a pop star turned guitarist and is a fabulous player. They both showed off their skills by performing a fantastic song rendition. Concertgoers were blown away by how great of a job they did together.

Jeff Beck’s Set

Jeff Beck, one of the most renowned and respected guitarists ever, returned to the stage on Friday night at the SFJazz Center. The 71-year-old Beck followed in the footsteps of some of rock’s biggest legends by appearing with Eric Clapton and Peter Frampton as part of Bill Murray’s “Pickathon” event. Murray introduced Beck, who said he is “the only guy with the chops to be the next act.”

Beck came on stage with Vinnie Colaiuta on Drums, Rhonda Smith on Bass, and Vanessa Freebairn-Smith on cello.

Jeff launched into a different, more in-your-face rocker right after playing Space For The Papa to remind everyone that he can play techno and anything else you can imagine. Jeff’s many crowd-pleasing songs continued to hone in on the concluding suit in the Rock Band set. As echoed by a hilarious infantile participant’s toast, it reminded everyone that Jeff could perform anything.

What I Didn’t Like

Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 Blu Ray

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Billy Gibbons of Z.Z. Top and Joe Walsh of the Eagles reportedly participated in surprise artist collaborations for the band’s upcoming tour. However, when fans saw Gibbons backstage before the show, they were not surprised to see him – he was already there!

While Walsh was not present during the show, rumors are swirling that he will finally join his former bandmates onstage for one last performance at some point during their tour. Gibbons’ presence seemed strange, considering he had been reported as one of the artists scheduled to participate in the collaboration.

There may have been a mix-up, and he performed with another band, but why his participation wasn’t confirmed in advance still needs to be clarified. Eric Clapton has been a major part of the music industry for over 50 years. He’s collaborated with some of the world’s biggest names, but a few lesser-known artists could have quickly appeared on one of his albums.

One example is Billy Gibbons from Z.Z. Top. Gibbons and Clapton teamed up to record “Laughing Last” in 1984, and it would have been amazing to see what they could have created had they continued working together. Joe Bonamassa might be best known for playing with Derek Trucks and The Allman Brothers Band, but he has his own sound. His 2011 album “Blood On The Tracks” was released two months after Clapton’s comeback album “Back In Black.

Final Thoughts On The Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 Blu Ray Edition
